When a defendant has been convicted and perhaps sentenced to prison, but doesn’t agree with the conviction, Mr. Hostetler has the skills and knowledge to make a direct appeal, if there are any legitimate grounds. He will take the direct appeal to the Colorado Court of Appeals, which must hear the appeal. He is experienced at uncovering many of the legal grounds for appeal , Such as:

Should the case lose in the court of appeals, Denver appellate attorney Richard A. Hostetler may file a petition for writ of certiorari, to convince the Colorado Supreme Court to hear the case. He will argue to the supreme court that the court of appeals made an error in its decision. Once the Colorado Supreme Court accepts the case and grants the writ of certiorari, he will file a brief and prepare an argument as to why the conviction should be overturned.
